Appendix C – How to Verify if You Have the PowerPivot Feature – Intro to Excel 2016 Pivot Tables

Appendix C – How to Verify if You Have the PowerPivot Feature
To verify if you have the PowerPivot feature installed on your PC, go into the Backstage View (Select File on the Ribbon). Once in the Backstage View, select the “Options” category on the left, which will open the Excel Options dialog box (FIGURE 1). Select the “Add-Ins” category on the left. Look among the Add-in listings for “Microsoft Office PowerPivot for Excel 2016.” If it’s listed and you want to install it now, select the listing with your mouse to highlight it. If it’s not listed, near the bottom of the screen where you see “Manage” section, from the drop-down menu box, select “COM Add-ins”, then select the Go button. Then select the OK button. PowerPivot will take several seconds to install.

Once successfully installed, you will see a PowerPivot tab located on the Excel Ribbon below in FIGURE 2. If the PowerPivot add-in is not listed, the only way to get it is by a subscription to a version that does contain it (See Module 1 Section 1 for selection criteria).
