Introduction to Excel 2016 Data Analysis
Hi everyone! First of all I would like to thank each of you for taking the Intro to Excel 2016 Data Analysis course. I applaud your efforts to improve your professional skillset which this course will certainly do. You may be wondering why you are having to do part of the PowerPoint course online. This course has recently transitioned from a traditional classroom-only status to a blended-classroom status.

Blended learning is a combination of online learning combined with classroom learning. It has become a very popular way of teaching in the business world as well as in the public schools. The reason for its popularity is because of 2 factors. First, due to the sheer amount of information having to be taught in a small window (4 hours for this course), learning some of the course material online reduces the amount of information to be covered in class, as well as the time needed in the classroom. Secondly, since the more elementary concepts are learned online, that provides additional time to be spent in class for the more advanced topics of the course. The bottom line is that you will be the beneficiary since additional classroom time is available for learning the more advanced topics, improving comprehension. Studies have shown that students not only prefer blended learning, but grades actually improve as well. Your goal for this online component of the course is to study Module 1 and Module 2.

I look forward to seeing you in class!

Your Instructor,
Jim Scarbrough
